The Bag of Hope project has supported over 1500 children in various townships and communities since its existence. Our goal is to raise enough funds to run 5 consecutive Bag of Hope events at 5 different schools for 2019 whereby we donate a minimum of 200 school bags per school with stationary included.
The foundation is currently running the Donate A Pad Campaign due the high rate of teenage girls missing out on their education due to menstruation. Our aim for 2019 is to raise 5000 sanitary pads to support and encourage these teenagers to keep building their tomorrow. Kusasalethu aspires to solve tomorrow’s challenges today.
Ithembalethu helps to serve less fortunate communities with the necessary resource aiming to eliminate poverty and provide hope for a better tomorrow. By providing food parcels and clothing, we will make a huge difference as we believe having a proper meal and decent clothing will restore their sense of being loved and cared for.
The Kusasalethu Kitchen focuses on giving showcasing Khayelitsha – the culture and how we live in the township. We enjoy African meals with our guests across all walks of the world – we pride ourselves with our signature dish which is Pap, Chakalaka and Sausage. Our guests also enjoy talks from well-respected community members whereby they share their stories of our beautiful country and history.
